During the Abbasid and Ottoman line Egypt was one of the principle melodic center points in the center east and in this way after the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1923 Egypt turned into the capital of Arabic music where old style instruments, for example, the oud, qanun and ney were generally utilized. The commonplace takht (gathering) comprised of an Oud player, qanun player, ney player and violin player. The takht (in a real sense meaning a couch) was the most widely recognized type of gatherings in the mid twentieth century before the reception of more symphonic instruments which were presented by authors, for example, Mohamed El Qasabgi, Riad El Sunbati and Mohamme ----
